A Friendly Horse

My husband and I took a short drive yesterday about 15-30 minutes past our home. We sort of did some farm hopping. I really am a city girl at heart, but when we moved out of the city 5 years ago, I was blown away at the beauty of nature all around me. I freak out if I see a deer, or a cow, or in this case, a friendly horse. He came right up to me once I started talking to him{Actually, I think it was a her}.
I am still getting use to being able to see such things almost in my own backyard. I'm so use to the hustle and bustle of the city. I'm not even use to seeing all the stars in the sky yet! We don't get that in the city.
I never want to take God's beauty for granted. Never. Ever. That is my vow.
Oh, it's found everywhere you guys, we just have to be the stewards to take the time to find it.

you're a beautiful person! & i'm a city girl too, but it's so nice to break away from that for a day or two now & then.

p.s. i love reading your sweet, sweet comments on the deer circus, & also saw your notes on my about page this morning. i'm going to start doing swaps this summer, so if you can go ahead and shoot me an email at bridgetfossedal@gmail.com, we'll start planning one out for ya! also, i do not have cystic fibrosis, but my husband, robbie, does.

That horse is beautiful! I forget in bigger cities you don't get to see as much nature! I live in mid size town in Oklahoma and there are horses and cows on their land in the middle of town. Now that I'm thinking about it, I bet that's weird!

This is a beautiful photo, gina! I've spent most of my life in the country - it's in my blood and when I'm away from it, I wither . . .

I couldn't agree more. It took me moving myself to a very remote location to reach a similar place in life. At points, I mentally railed against the lack of convenience that a city can provide. Once I adjusted to seeing all those stars, hearing the quiet of a deep night, watching the mother deer bring her young into our garden and trusting it to be a safe place to let them rest and eat...I never want things to be any different.
i waffle between thinking i'm a city girl vs. a country girl. Every time I'm in the country I think, I could totally live this kind of life. But then i'm sure i'd complain about the 40 minute drive to the market! lol

Love this horse! I was actually hoping to read it has now made it's home in your yard, ha! Man. I want to go horse back riding soon. That great you get to see such prettyness so often. I can easily take a half an hour (or less) drive to open land and enjoy horses, cows and more running around. Pure beauty.

Oh, I love this. I love that the two of you just go. I love that it involves spending time together, slowing down, and enjoying nature. I love that you commit to doing so. I appreciate that it involves the choice to seek and see beautiful. It's that commitment to life that leaves so many seeing beautiful in you!

Off to see beautiful!
