Cali Part Three, Golden Gate Adventures
I've mentioned several times on this blog that I am head over heels for donuts. I will search high and low for them, and go to the ends of the earth to try out new shops. Being in San Francisco was no different. So before we had our last long day in San Fran, we headed to this tasty little shop. I think I had two and a half donuts {don't judge me!}
Donuts are Gods way of saying, "Here's a little taste of what heaven on earth will be like."
boom boom
One of the coolest feelings ever was crossing the GG!
It can be so frustrating for me when I love and adore something so much and then I can't figure out a way to convey that, or really take it in. Seriously, this is a problem I have. That's how I felt about so much on this trip, including the GG. I don't know if it is the nostalgia from living near it as a young child, or if it's just the uniqueness of this bridge that floors me, because I find it just beautiful.
Driving past the GG on our way to Muir Woods
See! Trying to take it in, and I look pathetically sad! What's wrong with me!?!
Sequoias
Pretty, huh? No editing.
This little boy was drivin us nuts {in a nice tone}, we wanted to get a photo by this cute little bridge and he would not leave! Seriously, he was there forever!
We finally just went on the other ledge and got our photo!
Saying goodbye to the woods.
We stopped in Sausalito on our way back into the city, we shopped around, had a treat, and chatted about Madelynn's college plans.
That's San Fran behind me there; someone was telling us that that beautiful city came at the expense of tearing down all the Redwoods. I guess the city was all woods long long ago, and they tore down the Redwoods to make the city. Times evolve I guess. That's bittersweet to me.
Oh I feel so privileged to have been able to make this trip! I so cherished every moment, even the tough ones physically and emotionally. You can read this post here if you want to catch up.
Have a good weekend, see you Monday!
