The Girl Behind The Blog!

For better or worse? Oh no, that's a marriage vow, not a blogger/reader vow....well, here goes nothin!
Wowza, wasn't sure I was going to participate, but I changed my mind! It was so fun to watch all the other videos, so they were my source of encouragement. Please don't stop reading my blog after you watch this LOL! Um, I went way over 2-3 minutes, it's more like 4-5 minutes, sorry bout that Erin and Ashley; I'll do better next time, I promise! It's more nerve racking than I would have imagined. It was fun though, so thanks!

I'm glad you took a break from your day job. :) I have had a really rough day, and clicked on your post tonight and felt so encouraged. It made me smile to 'meet' you a little more. And everyone else is right- you're just stunning. I love the bit of Minnesota accent, too. :)

So cute! I can't stand looking at myself on videos, Lol. I don't have much "goals" for my blog either. . . . glad I am not the only one who feels like that.

Awww...your so pretty and don't look like you should have a 17 year old daughter! I really like your hair!

I like what you said about not focusing on what you don't have to give, but what you do...because I think we all have something to give!

Gina, I am so humbled by your comments on my blog! Seriously, you are so encouraging!

I am very much the same in that I sometimes think that my blog is not good enough, but responses like yours make so much of a difference, so thank you :)

Ah I love it! I love getting to "meet" you in a more visual way. I tried to do a vlog the other day, but there was no sound! Which is odd because I do have a built in microphone in my computer that works when I talk to people on Skype.

Gina, it was so nice to see you again after so many years... Hospital visits are not the place to really catch up. We are so happy Emily is doing so well. Just talked with sue and it reminded me to figure out this blog thing you were showing me...lol. Wanted to surprise you and just say hi...lol. I have read several of your posts and for all your followers out there... Gina is even more beautiful in person (if that's possible).. Just simply.. a pleasure to be around.. Not to mention..Yes you are still as pretty as you always were. I hope we can all get together again soon.. I hope this does not bore you but... Just a little something about me.. I have always told my children that the only bad days I can remember are... The days I forgot to take CHRIST with me. Every day before I/we leave our home... I/we have always tried to say our family prayers. Its not habit, just something to fulfill our needs.. Some days we hurry etc. and many reasons can, or do, or have arisen, that has caused us to forget or delay our prayers... Almost every one of those days some little thing went wrong.. Last Monday was one of those days.. Dawn and I went to a fun Steam Threshing show up near Canada last weekend and arrived home late. I forgot to drop off some cash at banks night deposit on way home.. Dawn had to get up at 7am for work (home office) so she asked if I would run into make quick deposit (for all your readers who might not have to worry about checks clearing.. You would not understand..lol). Well, I had prayers in mind but.... Forgotten in hurry out the door. I drove into town and returned home half hour later to our dog Avalanche (youngest son Brads dog) greeting me as usual at the end of our quarter mile driveway... Avalanche nearing 11 now, has always run along side all way to parking. This time he stopped half way back and chased a bird in pasture... I never saw him dart around the blind passenger side in front of my truck... IT WAS THE WORST THING... he may of slipped darting in front of me, not sure.. I heard a terrible yelp at about the instant I felt the bump.. I knew it instantly when he yelped... I stopped immediately, crying as I got out to see if I needed to back up or go forward...Expecting to see the worst... I was in tears hardly able to see him...I backed up and he ran ahead to middle of yard...I was crying when I ran inside for Dawns office.. Dawn instantly ran with me outside to help take him to vet but.. Avalanche was not there. She walked around house and I drove the other way... He was on front porch and came limping to pickup.. Dawn sat inside and I lifted him to her lap. We drove that long 40 miles crying and petting... He never whimpered..

There was no blood. I had called ahead to vet so she was there waiting when I carried him to the door. I carried him to exam room where he became frightened (has hated vets office from every shot)the girls were great... They soothed him and felt him all over.. Gently moving limbs and feeling his body... He never whimpered once. Dr asked us to leave him for x rays etc. Dr called 45 long minutes later saying it was bad... Hip broken in 3 places... possible nerve damage.. maybe going to have bathroom problems.. 3 alternatives (choices).. 1st after talking to 2 specialists from Mpls and Fargo... No one had ever attempted this kind of surgery/repair... They could pin etc but his age and the fact he is already suffering from arthritis in other hip/leg.. they could not guarantee he would survive surgery and if he did.. He might never use leg again... 2nd choice... keep him confined in small area and hopefully it will heal in 4 weeks... 3rd... think of quality of life etc and the dog... and put him to sleep.. it was a tough couple days.. Brad (now 19, and has pharmacy internship) came home 150 miles to be with him. As soon as Brad got to driveway Avalanche stood up and went to him. We all had more hope. Brad comes home now each day.. We watched Avalanche close first couple days to see if he could/would go bathroom etc... Nothing... Brad and I talked/prayed... After many tears... (Brad made the decision to put him down if he is unable to release urine or stool... Dr said it would become very painful) Keep in mind this dog is a super dog... Able to leap over fences... Catch and eat pheasants or anything else that comes into his territory... Avalanche has over a dozen raccoon, skunk, and badger kills.. Anything/everything including Coyote and mountain lions are chased off our property or die. Avalanche is the King of our land... Yesterday he had still not gone bathroom, I had carried him outside to watch me when the neighbors drove up driveway... Immediately Avalanche barked... Stood up.. Walked to fence and urinated..Then walked into pasture to crap.. (forgot to mention..BEST DOG EVER..He goes to pasture to crap)..he collapsed by fence... I was so excited I txt Brad... Avalanche lay there until just about time Brad got home.. Then like he knew Brad was coming he walked out of pasture and stopped at corner of house, then layed down... Moments later Brad was home and carried him inside. Brad decided we will try confine/limit dogs activity and do our best to keep him comfortable... Every day will be hard... I know that GOD is going to help us... Yes I left out many things like drugs etc... We are doing what is needed to make him feel loved and comfortable... Wow.. I have said way too much... Hope to see you again Gina...Just not 10 or 20 years again...lol
