Song In Your Heart

Is there a song that inspires you? Although I am not musically inclined, I LOVE music. 
I  literally feel like I can't describe what it does for me, and how it moves me. 

I love the verse: "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." Philippians 4:8
You might not see the connection right away with music, but here it is. I am a believer that what you think about, tends to unfold in your life. Or rather, we could even say, YOUR DAY.
By thinking on such things, or by having a 'song in your heart', your day will be brighter. It will be lighter.

Wouldn't you agree that after you watch a bad movie, or hear a dirty song, or hang around people that are negative or crude, you feel worse? 

Isn't it true that when you fill your head with gossip magazines, or watch politics in the news, that your heart has more chaos in it?

That's where  putting a song in your heart comes in. If I am intentional each day about finding a song that lifts my spirits, especially a worship song,(I could write an essay book about what can happen by having worship music in your heart), then that usually sets the course of my day. Opt for one that has made or makes a difference in your life. 
My girlfriend and I have this Shawn Colvin song 'Round Of Blues' we just love, and every time I hear it, it makes me smile. So I will refer back to it A LOT. I've kept it in my heart.
There are countess songs that I have and I know you all have that you've kept in your heart. Remember to keep replenishing your heart with songs. I know it will make a difference for your day.

Around a year ago I made the commitment to keep secular music away from my ears as I was noticing the influence it had in my life. I became intentional about hearing music that would exalt God and influence me to think about Him more. One of the best decisions I've made
a girl with a smile, I TOTALLY agree!!! I use to get life and worth from following bands and going to concerts etc...I was into Radiohead, Nirvana, Wilco--but the closer I drew to Christ, the more empty it all felt. So I am with you 100%--but I do love having these sweet songs that remind me of certain friends ;) thanks for your comment!
