Life Through Instagram

Hi everyone, how was your week? Mine was busy again--and I haven't been getting the rest I need, and after the last 6 weeks with all the craziness--me getting sick, Nells having surgery and recovering, our basement flooding and being completely tore up, and the storm, I am finally exhausted. So much so that I need to rest. I'm even taking a week off of rehab so I can get the rest I need. That will be happening next week.

Thank you all for the excellent, fun, challenging questions in my post from last week--I will do a vlog next week and answer every.single.one. I so appreciate you!

Aside from the extremely stressful situations I mentioned above, here are a few things I have been up to:

-College visits with my daughter (4 of them:)
-Spending time with my nieces and nephews
-Madelynn getting 2 more piercings
-Nightly walks
-A couple beach days (alone)
-Eating a lot of fresh summer fruit

There is one or two, extremely exciting things going on around here, one is Nells. He is doing really well!
Cream, cream, it's always about the cream for this boy!

How he loves my plastic bags!

Ya, don't ask.

My boy is officially a brut! He's a burly, husky, brut of a pooch! He needs the following asap:
-a grooming
-his teeth brushed
-a diet
-and a bath!
Now that the full 6 weeks of Kennel time is just about up, he is good to go! He can go on walks this week!!! Isn't that wonderfully exciting!?! His 4 week post-op went really well--he just had a bit of an infection where his incision is, but they put him on some drugs and extra kennel rest so he could fully heal. Now he's doing the best I've seen in in 2 months you guys, and I could not be more thankful! Thank you all for thinking of him and for asking about him!

REally Nells!?!

The other miracle that has been happening:

When we pulled into the driveway on Monday after looking at a college with Madelynn, I almost had a heart attack--I saw this nest on top of my wreath near my door. I have had this wreath hanging there year round for almost 6 years now. When I saw that nest you guys I went running into the house to tell my husband, and I started yelling, "Do you think it's real? Do you think it's legit?" Ahahahahaha after hyperventilating and a day later................wait for it......................

1 egg

2 egg

3!

And Momma Robin working non-stop for her babes! I feel so blessed and lucky to be experiencing this--I don't think I will be able to handle it when they actually hatch, it will be too overwhelming for me--this kind of beauty is the kind I have trouble expressing in all it's glory and goodness. 10 more days and babies should be here!

Lots of evenings reading on the deck--my favorite kind of evening.

Late breakfasts.

A pretty rose that lasted 3 weeks!

Father's Day exploring at a beautiful park!

Nightly walks!
We are so fortunate to live in a town where beauty galore can be found within 5-10 minutes from home.
Ended one of our nightly walks talking to this vietnam war vet--he told us stories about his tree in the front yard and how thankful he was that he didn't lose it in the storm.

Benefit for Cancer, and I got to see one of my BFF's perform, which was so so amazing.

Clogging Recital!
 My niece Emily, #144!
 Sisters:)

A few garage sale finds (the brown thingy is to for when I rest my legs at home after my exercises)

Some of my pretty stationary I pulled out to finally write some letters.

Cute hoop I made for my niece when she was sick.

Time with my niece that was sick:( (she's better now:)

Beach day (alone)!

College Visits!

After our visit at Winona, we stopped at the site where Madelynn's friend died a year and a half ago due to texting and driving. She was on her way back to school after winter break, and went to respond to a text and she was hit by a charter bus head on; died instantly. It shook Madelynn up, a week later Madelynn had to get her drivers license. She was so scared. I was so glad Madelynn got to see this spot. It was good for her.
A chapel at one of the schools.
Checking out the stage of course.
Coffee break, always, always coffee break.
Hamline University was really beautiful. It dated back to 1858!
 Flowers on the campus.

Spontaneous late night piercings!
Madelynn got her 9th & 10th piercing that night--no where too bizarre, just nose and ears! I had to leave the room for one of them, I just couldn't take it. And then I thought to myself--what kind of mother am I, letting my daughter do this?! I was feeling like a crappy mom. But it's her way of a form of self-expression, and she's a great kid, so I don't mind.

Early morning help around the house in the summer is so nice.

Surprise Flea markets that you aren't even looking for!

This place was right down the street of our house, who knew?!
Too bad I have a dog surgery to pay for, so I didn't walk out with too much. But I did get a few fun things!
 I was going bonkers!

Fresh fruits of the summer...

And randoms...

 New tray I was utilizing.
What I was thankful for that day.
Playing with my sister's red lipstick!
The perfect combo for an italian girl.
Our life right now--in this little embroidery picture I inherited. It use to be Kevin's grandma's. And I thought to myself, hey--this is our reality right now:)
A project I did with my niece! (If you like it, just let me know, and I will make you one--give me some details of what you would like on it and the colors and I'll mail you one:)

Her 10th piercing, the Daith.

So glad Nells is doing better!!

I was the same age as Madelynn when one of my best friends died in a car accident. So heart breaking. But I think it's awesome you let her get piercings! I had my ears pierced once and always wanted more but my parents wouldn't let me.

That flea market looks amazing! I'm drooling!

First off, LOVE all the photos!!
I'm soooo happy to hear Nells is recovering well! He looks so precious in all of his pictures! Also, the robin's nest = AMAZING!!! I could only dream that would happen to me! I found a killdeer's nest at the dog park once and we would visit her daily to check up on them. I wish a bird would nest on my house! So cool.

Where you take your walks is simply beautiful! I wish we had places around here that looked like that.

It looks like you had a wonderful time checking out colleges with Madelynn. Is there one that she's leaning more towards now that she's visited a few?

Glad to see that Nells is doing so much better! Hope you've been able to relax this week! Be well my friend!
