It's There
Grace,
When I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and the rest of the day follows suit,
I reach for it
grace,
it's there.
When my voice is more elevated than I care for it to be, and I hinder love,
I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I can't even crack a smile to someone I love, I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I can't sit up or even sit down because of pain, I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I've said something without thinking, and a friend sheds a tear,
I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I don't fully listen, and I interrupt, I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I don't pick up the phone, or send an email back, or return a text,
I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I have forgotten forms to sign for school, or have failed to pack her lunch,
I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I have a nasty thought, about a loved one or stranger,
I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I put myself down and call myself names,
I reach for it,
grace, it's there.
When all I can do is rest, and I lack motivation or strength, I reach for it,
grace,
it's there.
When I've wanted to give up, instead of fight the good fight, I just simply think of
grace, because I know,
I know,
it's there.
When I wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and the rest of the day follows suit,
I reach for it
grace,
it's there.

Such a great reminder! You can never not hear the message of grace too much =)
ReplyDeleteHow glorious that the grace depends nothing on our loveliness, but wholly on His character. Oh to be transformed to His likeness through the grace of God!
ReplyDeleteGreat reminder. All we must do is reach for it, it's there.
ReplyDeleteI could definitely do with more of it in my life right now. I find myself snapping too easily and raising my voice too loudly. I must keep looking and reaching for Grace.
