Heartache

We've all experienced it one way or another. At one time or another. It's incredible what heartache can do not only to our
hearts, but our minds. It weaves it's way into our blood and veins.
It weaves its way into our studies, our marriages, our friendships, our work, our very beings. Let's call it something other than heartache, shall we?
For if it permeates in more than one place besides our hearts, isn't it due a different name, other than just heartache? Or shouldn't we give it that much attention? It leaves us in such despair, and in
a land like we are on a patch of grass all alone, and no one will
ever come sit with us again. Similar to sitting on a lonely bench and waiting and waiting for someone, anyone to come visit us, or just say HI. It can make us desperate creaturesIt creates welled tears that gush out at any given moment. It makes us feel lost, unloved, unworthy and extremely defeated. And it can come and go in waves, that, the hardest part of all. Like it's controlling us. I never thought at the age of 37 I would watch my baby child girl go through such pain. {And I never could envision how much I would be affected by it.} Such deep, embedded emotional pain that hurts so bad she nor I, can breathe. But heartache won't steal her life. It won't last. It can't last, it doesn't hold a candle to something deeper that resides where heartache tries to live. And that would be the peace and love and power of Jesus. Dark and Light can't live in the same place.
Ok, so that means, He will move in on the heartache and darkness
and bring newness. It's just a matter of time. Crazy heartache,
you have no idea what you are up against.

  1. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18

Heartbreak has to be one of the worst pains... not only does it put your emotions out of whack but it physically hurts. I'm sorry your daughter is going through this. I'm not big on God and scripture, but I do know that support from family and friends plus giving your heart time to heal will do wonders for the soul <3

I quite agree that it's just a matter of time. Sooner or later, we find ourselves again, and those painful experiences will serve as lessons. I believe it's one of God's mysterious ways...

When my dad died my pastor told me...I know this is something you will never get over...but our biggest heartaches sometimes can lead to the greatest things and open doors we never thought we possible.

I can only imagine...how much worse heartache is watching your baby go through it :( praying for you both today!

Mmmhmm, sweetheart, mmhmm! Crazy heartache, you have no idea what you are up against. So true.
Thankfully heartache only lasts a temporary time, and there will come a day when Jesus will wipe the tears of sorrow from our eyes. That's definitely something to look forward to.

I think pain for kids is even worse then for ourselves. Beautiful post. I hope the end comes quickly.

Wow. I really feel for you guys. I have been in similar places in life. That Psalm has always brought me comfort. He really is so near when we need Him most. It brings a closeness I've never experienced at any other time.

Heartache enables us to grow in love by letting go and realizing we are still whole by ourselves, even though it hurts

Heartache is something I tasted often in my high school days. Just reading this brought back such memories that make me cringe.

Jesus' love & grace is what I now see when I look back to those times. I'm not sure if your daughters heartache is with a boy, but mine was..... Over and over. :(

But boy do I have a prince of a man now! :) Jesus knew!

I am praying for you and your daughter! This is something i am not looking forward to with m y kids :(

well, i believe that God lets things happen in our lives, either good or bad, for a reason.. we may not see its true meaning not unless we realize it... most not so good things are blessings in disguise, it happens because something beautiful is coming to us.. we just have to be patient, wait and pray.... so love this post!!! kisses!!!

My daughter and I were talking about similar things....mainly loneliness. Life is just plain hard! What to do with disappointments?...has been a question that I deal with alot! Here on this earth we will have trouble...this is not the place God intended for us. He had something so much better planned, but sin wrecked it all! In our pain, Jesus comforts, and He is our friend, who never disappoints. Hold tight!! until we reach our real home!!

Oh Gina, what an incredibly trying time. I pray God showers down all sorts of comforts on the two of you. That He wraps you in His arms and carries you through this passage. I know He will use time to heal the wound.

Love from me to both you and your gorgeous daughter...

I'm so sorry for your daughter. She's in my thoughts and prayers. I truly hope it doesn't feel like anyone's minimizing her pain by letting her know that we've all experienced heartache. I hope her knowing that comforts her and helps her feel supported. Lots of love to both of you!

Such a truthful post and one my own heart grabs onto--dark and light can't live in the same place! Jesus is moving in!

Sending prayers up for your daughter! That Jesus will wrap His arms around her heart!

oh such truth. heartaches are so awful. having been through a few myself, i can only now, many years later, see them for the beautiful building blocks they were. kudos to you for being such a faithful influence in your sweet daughter's life. being human means having a heart that breaks. but it also means having one capable of infinite love and happiness. that's the beautiful pendulum. she'll be on the upswing soon:)
