every two seconds

my husband and i had one of "those" kinds of weekends.
if you are married, or even if you aren't
but you have a significant other, you know what i mean.

it was one of those weekends, that without grace,
we wouldn't be talking to each other today,
we wouldn't be looking at each other today,
we would be acting rude today.
we would have resorted to self, but instead
we resorted to God, out of love for Him,
we chose grace.

every.two.seconds.
we had to. grace was the only thing that would take us
to a different place.
we were stuck. stuck in our tones. stuck in our words. stuck in our dirty looks.

by choosing grace, every two seconds, we get beyond whatever we are stuck in;
whether it's a disagreement, or bickering, or a blowout.

free will is such a beautiful thing, and everyday i'm thankful that we have
a choice to choose grace.

grace is like a beautiful rose in a mysterious way.
grace, like a rose
has so many hidden layers that we haven't even reached yet.
both so beautiful.

I know exactly what kind of weekend you are talking about, and Saturday was this for us too...many opportunities to say, "I told you so," but choosing grace is better. thank you for your post.

We choose grace, and yet--how it chooses us, as there is nothing in our power to really make the right choice and be "grace-full!" :) Praise God he is at work in us to seek grace each day.

Oh goodness, i'm struggling with this at the moment. My boyfriend and I really can't decide whether we chose to pursue the relationship (3 years ) or we separate because we are such different people. This is a really encouraging post. x

I totally agree with you! Patience and grace are so important to keep in the forefront in a relationship. It is something I try to keep very conscience of and thankful for every day.

so much can happen within a second. I totally understand what you mean. I have those kinds of days..or weekends all the time. I've learned to be humble, to be quick at forgiving and focus and only the good.

I've enjoyed reading your last 2 posts and "about me" info...

Your mother-daughter one was good for me. We adopted my niece in March. She'd just turned 11. It has been so.much.harder. than I dreamed. We wouldn't change our choices regarding the adoption at all, but wow. Also, it has catapulted me/us into the tween/teen drama and upset a lot sooner than expected, because of the deep, deep hurts in her heart.

Thanks for your honesty!
Love this, and ME TOO! :)
