Monster Tree

I spent the other day with a friend, one of my best--and this is her tree.
We sat near that tree for hours, only taking small breaks for tea and water.
Trees seem maybe to make conversation easy, because we talked and talked.
She listened, I listened. I talked. She talked.
It's a simple thing, yes, but a meaningful thing, which I'm all for. I thrive for meaningful moments, I mean come on, look at the title of my blog--I'm constantly looking for the beauty in things, and meaningful, authentic moments.
I think the human soul CRAVES connection. We all want to feel connected to someone or something. I crave my God and the people I love. I long to be connected. I hunger and thirst for relationships and fellowship. We were made for things such as these. God is relational, why wouldn't we be?
Even if it's in the middle of the week, near a monster Ash Tree,
or if it's a book club,
a gym you belong to,
your workplace,
church small group,
AA group,
or a cribbage group...
find the extraordinary in the ordinary, the meaningful in the seemingly meaningless,
like I did, with a friend, and one massive gorgeous Tree.

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. Genesis 1:11
